Catriona can provide advice in cases where it is necessary for a guardianship order to be applied for in terms of the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000, where, for example, a family member is incapable due to mental disorder or due to inability to communicate because of a physical disability.
We can advise the family regarding such cases and deal with the relevant court applications. Such applications are sometimes necessary if an elderly relative is incapable of signing a Power of Attorney.
